A Great Day for Snorkeling – Cause and Effect

CAUSE AND EFFECT

Often, one story causes something else to happen.
This is known as a cause-and-effect relationship

The cause is the event that makes something else happens.
This second event is the effect.

Guides for identifying Causes and Effects

To figure out the cause, ask WHY?
To figure out the effect, ask WHAT HAPPENED AS A RESULT?
Look for more than one cause or effect.

Examples:
CAUSE
Someone dials your phone number.
EFFECT
The phone rings.

CAUSE
The sun rises
EFFECT
It becomes lighter outside.
